​​Welcome to Miss Barbara's Piano Lessons
....for children and adults, including special needs

an individualized approach for each pianist
using a variety of curriculum and special music

Lessons are held in-person or remotely (through Zoom or FaceTime)
or a hybrid of both options. 

INSTRUCTION

~~Repertoire of music--
     Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, Contemporary, Sacred, Jazz, Pop
 
~~Technical skills--
     scales, arpeggios, five finger patterns, chord inversions, I-IV-V patterns,
     various finger exercises, sight reading, transposing, etc.
 
~~Music theory--
     major and minor keys, scales and five finger patterns, time values and signatures,
     intervals, cadences, transposition, ornaments, chords and inversions,
     motif/repetition/sequence/imitation, time periods of music history, etc.
 
~~Music appreciation--
     other resources for enhancing the music learning experience
 
 
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

nearly thirty years experience teaching piano to children and adults, including special needs
accompanied various choirs, soloists, dance classes
pianist in trio of violin, cello and piano
Director—Children’s Choir and Children’s Worship Leader at church for twelve years

began piano lessons at age eight
studied piano under Dr. Arthur Lambert, Professor, San Diego State University
Master of Business Administration, San Diego State University
Bachelor of Science—Finance, San Diego State University
CBEST

President, Inclusive Movement and Dance
a 501(c)(3) non-profit dance company in the special needs community

Cost of Lessons*

$20.00 for 30 minutes/one time per week

for longer lessons:  $30.00 for 45 minutes or $40.00 for 60 minutes/one time per week

(please note: lessons are paid by the month)
